Celebrating 40 years of business

Independent property firm, Kempton Carr Croft celebrates 40 years in business.

Founded by Malcolm Kempton and Michael Carr in a tiny, serviced office on King Street in Maidenhead in 1986, Kempton Carr Croft has grown into one of the region’s most established independent firms of Chartered Surveyors and RICS registered valuers, providing property solutions across London and the Thames Valley from its head office in Maidenhead.

Four decades have seen the firm grow from two people to a multi-disciplined team, acquire three smaller practices: Geoffrey Carr in 1990, Croft and Co in 2007 and Mead Briggs in 2009.

The firm has relocated its head office four times and nurtured a long line of graduates through to Chartered status.

That commitment to home-grown talent is perhaps best illustrated by the firm’s current leadership. Rob Kerrigan joined Kempton Carr Croft as a graduate in 2005, became operations manager in 2015, and took over as Managing Director in April 2018, when Malcolm and Mick stepped down after 32 years at the helm. In 2025 Nathan Hall, who also started as a graduate, joined Rob on the Board.

Rob Kerrigan, Managing Director, comments:

“Forty years is a milestone very few independent firms reach, and it belongs to everyone who has been part of the journey. Malcolm and Mick built this firm on real foundations: honest advice, proper professional standards, and a genuine investment in the people who work here. Four decades on, those are still the things that define us.

What stands out most is the group of people constantly pulling together as a team to deliver the best possible service to every client. Forty years on, that’s still the thing that makes the difference.

I’m looking forward to seeing what the next decade and beyond brings.”

Celebrating with the team

There was only one way to mark forty years properly – with the people who got us here. The whole team came together for a celebration at the wonderful Lavvin Restaurant in Marlow, and a great night was had by all.
