Kempton Carr Croft on BBC radio Berkshire

On Friday 22nd January, BBC Radio Berkshire’s breakfast show focused on Maidenhead, its regeneration and what residents of the town can expect from up to one billion pounds of investment into the town centre area over the next five to ten years.

Contributors to the show included our own director Malcolm Kempton, local MP Theresa May and Mayor of Maidenhead, Eileen Quick.

The three phase regeneration project currently underway is due to coincide with the town’s first cross rail service in 2019 and the development has been a hot topic of conversation amongst local residents and businesses since plans were approved and works began in 2015.

As a lifelong Maidenhead resident, local business owner and Chartered Surveyor involved in the project, Malcolm provided an insightful contribution to the show in two live segments with reporter Susanne Courtney.

The interviews took place sheltered under the BBC Berkshire umbrella outside 5 High Street, Kempton Carr Croft’s previous offices, and later by the boarding outside the Chapel Arches development where a hive of building and development activity can be seen.

Topics included progress on the waterways element of the project and each delivery phase planned to transform the town centre with new shops, offices, restaurants, up to 225 apartments and a central public space at King Street and Queen Street.

Malcolm Kempton Comments:

“As an active member of PROM, The Partnership for the rejuenation of Maidenhead, I’m very enthusiastic about the whole project. Over the next five to ten years the regeneration of Maidenhead is a priority for everybody in the town and there are some fantastic schemes ongoing.

Everyone involved is working very hard to get them delivered and Maidenhead is going to be a fantastic place to live, work and enjoy”
